Description

Performed preventive maintenance, lubrication, and servicing of diesel engines, pumps, hydraulic systems, generators, and other dredging equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations. Monitored machinery performance, conducted routine inspections, identified mechanical issues, and assisted with repairs to minimize downtime. Maintained fluid levels, changed filters, cleaned equipment, and kept accurate maintenance records. Worked closely with engineers, mechanics, and deck crews while following company safety procedures, environmental regulations, and lockout/tagout practices.

Work Styles

  • Lubricate and maintain dredge and booster equipment as well as on-site heavy equipment
  • Assist with routine maintenance and repairs.
  • Monitor engines, pumps, and mechanical systems.
  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
  • Work effectively as part of the C&M Family
  • Document daily equipment maintenance reports

Physical Requirements

  • Experience as a Dredge Oiler or in marine/heavy equipment maintenance required.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Driver's License
  • Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to safety.
  • MSHA/OSHA certification a plus
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Must pass a background check and drug test
