Navigable Waterway Maintenance Dredging

Navigable Waterway Maintenance Dredging

Local, State, and Federal government agencies (and private entities) are tasked with maintaining a set channel depth that changes from location to location to ensure safe passage for vessels navigating the area without running aground.

Wave action, erosion, and sedimentation periodically reduce the depth of navigable channels and periodic maintenance dredging is performed to restore the planned operating depth.

To accomplish this work, C&M Dredging utilizes both hydraulic and mechanical dredges equipped with GPS mapping and positioning software.

During the dredging process, C&M Dredging carefully monitors sediment removal and disposal. Sediment should be disposed of in designated areas or reused for beneficial purposes such as beach nourishment.

Our proper planning, equipment selection, and environmental considerations are essential for successful dredging of navigable waterways. By following these guidelines, we can ensure safe and efficient maritime transportation for years to come.

C&M Dredging is USL&H Insured, Bonded, and Jones Act compliant.
